Henry Angus III and Connie Angus, founders of The Hope Express, wish to extend a sincere thank you to the Estate of David and Marie Graupner Elias for their generous bequest in support of our mission to raise awareness, as well as funds for The Four Diamonds Fund.  The Hope Express was established in 2009 by the Angus family to raise awareness for the Four Diamonds Fund (FDF), which is located at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center Children’s Hospital.  The FDF supports families of pediatric cancer patients who undergo treatment at the Hershey Medical Center – no family is ever denied their support.

The Angus family became aware of the many benefits provided by the FDF when their oldest son was diagnosed with Leukemia in 2004.  As a direct result of the financial and emotional support provided to them by the FDF, the family was able to focus on their son’s treatment and not worry about the financial impact that such a diagnosis can have on the entire family.  Hank and Connie started The Hope Express as their way of saying thank you to the Four Diamonds Fund and to offer their support.  The funds from the Elias Estate will help The Hope Express and its participants to continue to raise awareness for the Four Diamonds Fund (FDF) throughout Pennsylvania communities.

Mr. and Mrs. Elias were recognized in our Harrisburg community as very giving of themselves and their time.  Throughout their lives, and in passing, they supported many non-profit, educational, religious and civic organizations as well as their own church.  They lived their lives with integrity and were well respected by their peers and other business owners in our community.  The Angus family and The Hope Express will honor Mr. and Mrs. Elias’ legacy by continuing to give back to the community and families in need through The Hope Express.
